The Awesome Ping Kids

It was morning in the Valley of Peace, Lin the daughter of The Dragon Warrior and Master Tigress awoke early to get breakfast ready for her family. Po and the Furious Five went on a very important, very secret mission about a month ago, leaving the protection of the Valley to Lin and her twin brother Xin. Lin often worries about her parents and so would her little siblings but Zang the Palace Messenger sends their letters to their parents and always comes back with letters from them.

Lin started making noodle soup, humming a song as she goes. Lin heard someone walking in kitchen and sat down in the chair with heavy sigh. Lin didn’t have to see who it was.

“Good morning Xin.” she said cheerfully.

“What so good about it?” Xin responded coldly, Xin has been sulking ever since their parents left.

“Come on Xin its been a month, I‘m getting tired of you sulking all day.” Lin shot back

Xin clutched his fists. “I just don’t understand why I’m always stuck babysitting, I’m almost 18 and I never had a real mission like Mom and Dad.”

Lin went to her brother a place her paw on his shoulder. “Xin have you ever heard the saying ‘Good things come to those that wait’ and beside watching the Valley is not babysitting.”

“That’s not what I meant.” He replied, then right on cue their little sister, Hui and brother Hai came racing in. Hui slide into her sit.

“Ha, I win again!” Hui gloated.

“It’s not fair, you’re older then me!” Hai yelled as he sat down.

“Yes and I’m way faster then you too.” Hui teased.

“Knock it off Hui.” Xin snapped. Hui and Hai flinched.

“Big brother is still in a bad mood.” Hai whispered.

“He always in a bad mood.” Hui said then stuck out her tongue at Xin.

Lin rolled her eyes, it was going to be a long day. She started filling bowls then handed them out, Lin likes to go by youngest to oldest. So Hai was first then Hui, Xin and her (Lin is only 5 minutes older then Xin.)

At soon as Hui had her bowl she lifted it up and started slurping it down knowing that it annoys Xin when she does that.

“Hui please use your chopsticks.” Lin asked, sensing the tension between Hui and Xin, last thing her need is a fight to break out in the kitchen, again.

Hui put her bowl down, Hai started laughing. “What so funny, Hai?” Hui asked.

“Nothing… Grandpa Fu.” Hai snickered. Hui noticed there was a noodle above her lips, she giggled and started acting like their Grandpa Shifu.

“You can never be a great warrior unless you do 100 pull ups and 10 laps around the Valley.” Hui said in a deep voice then she reached across the table grabbing two spare bowls.

“Work hard enough children and you’ll have ears like mine.” Hui hovered the bowls in front of her ears, Hai was laughing so hard that he almost fall off his chair, Lin was laughing too. Xin on the other hand was stone face through his sister’s antic, Lin noticed this and elbowed Xin in the side.

“Lighten up Xin.”
